B.A. (Hons.) Bengali


The B.A. (Hons.) Bengali program seeks to cover critical areas of study, i.e., historical and descriptive study of the language; study of the language for specific purposes, such as Film Script, advertisement, official writing, creative writing, translation, journalistic writing, writing for New Media, etc. Study of specific areas like Manuscriptology, Teaching Methodology, the study of the theories of literature and criticism, and study of the history and important literary texts of Bengali Literature is also a part of the Course.


Eligibility for Admission in B.A. (Hons.) Bengali


Program Specific Eligibility

Candidates must appear in CUET in any of the following subject combinations:


Combination I: Bengali from List A + Any two subjects from List B1 + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2


Combination II: Any one language from List A + Any two subjects from List B1 + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2


Merit will be based on the best CUET score obtained from any of the above-mentioned combinations of subjects.

Candidates who opted for Combination II for admission will be considered only if seats remain vacant after considering all the candidates who opted for Combination I
